This club (EADS) was founded in 1978 to promote interest in the collection and restoration of horse-drawn vehicles, and to encourage participation in the art & sport of carriage driving through pleasure driving clinics, driving competitions, and pleasure drives. The Driving Society offers annual clinics to further the skills of beginner through advanced drivers and to promote “safe driving” practices. Currently, The East Aurora Driving Society is working in concert with the NY State Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation - Western Region, Friends of Knox Park, NYState Horse Council-Western Chapter, Aurora Trail Riders, and other allied organizations to insure that Knox Farm State Park remains open for equestrian use. Membership in the club is open to anyone interested in advancing the “art and sport of pleasure driving.” All members are encouraged to participate in club activities and to serve on its committees. Our members are available to help a member new to carriage driving - and members often get together for informal drives. Join us! Ownership of a horse or carriage is not required.
